Hello, and thank you for stopping by!

I’m Lori J, a self-taught artist living in a quaint little town in Eastern Alabama – Opelika – with my husband Tom and our two Old English Sheepdogs, Quinn and Wilson.

I create my pieces in a variety of mediums: colored pencils, watercolor, pastels and pastel pencils. Birds are often my favorite subjects, closely followed by domestic animals. Children portraits are another favorite.

I usually reserve watercolor for beach scenes and timeless figures, mostly women and children. I often draw inspiration from Impressionist and Figurative styles, and am in awe of the Old Spanish Masters.
