Commissions

I am currently accepting pet portraits and other commissions. Artwork turnaround time varies, depending on current workload, but it is roughly three to four weeks from order placement. Please contact me if you have a specific deadline in mind.

I require a few good quality photos of your subject in order to produce a realistic portrait. The more details and color variations I can see, the better I can render them.

A couple of helpful tips: pay attention to light, definition, angle. Phone cameras nowadays produce good resolution pictures, but remember: the best photos are taken in outdoor lighting and the angle should be eye-level with your subject.

It’s also nice to hear a bit about your pet personality, quirks, what makes them special to you. Believe me, I do a much better job if I somewhat feel closer to your subject! Emotions play a substantial role in my art and it definitely shows in the end product.

I use the finest archival materials: high quality chalk pastels and the best papers available to guarantee a product that will last for generations.

A pastel portrait needs to be matted and framed behind glass. I work in sizes that easily fit in commercially available frames, unless a specific size is requested.

I welcome your questions and inquiries! Feel free to contact me at Lori.J.Art@gmail.com
